After nearly a decade of military and federal civilian service, Jared and wife Brenda bought their first income property in 1992 and went back to school. They never looked back.
They started their own residential/light commercial flooring company in 1994 and soon expanded into renovations, general construction and land development. In 1996 they acquired, subdivided and developed 26 rural acres east of Austin and designed/built a higher-end ‘spec’ home, building road access spanning a drainage right-of-way, installing septic and water well, etc. After completing the first home, the couple sold the entire project to an investor.
Jared is a Texas registered and insured builder/remodeler and member of the BBB and has built, renovated and rehabbed as well as consulted on multiple projects.
Mr. Stock is a licensed Independent (Property) Insurance Adjuster in several states and FEMA Disaster Housing Assessor. As such, he has traveled nationally with FEMA and private insurance carriers (State Farm, USAA, Citizen’s of Florida, Texas Wind Insurance Association, etc.), inspecting and assessing damages and writing the scopes of repair on hundreds of residential and commercial properties. He has worked with general contractors, trades and municipal agents as well as property owners to settle claims and disputes and overseen the rehabilitation or reconstruction of real property damaged by hurricanes, floods and other disasters. He has been involved in damage assessment, separating policy damage from non-covered damage, contractor/property owner fraud and liability claims.
Additionally, Mr. Stock has trained and supervised other adjusters during field operations in Florida and Texas.
In 2000, Jared earned a Texas Professional license for Real Estate Inspection. As such, he has inspected and assessed the condition of hundreds of residential and light commercial properties to facilitate real estate transactions and as an independent expert. He has inspected property on behalf of buyers, sellers, builders, contractors and lenders. His expertise has been requested in all areas including new construction, existing construction, liability claims, best practice, funding, damage assessment and more.
As a Texas Authorized Instructor of inspection courses, Jared taught licensing courses to real estate agents and inspectors locally at Austin Community College and nationally through Building Specs, Inc. and has mentored and assisted individuals in licensing and establishing their own inspection businesses.
Jared has consulted with and mentored for other owners of construction related businesses ranging from HVAC to appraisals.
For a time, Mr. Stock held a provisional (Real Estate) Appraiser’s license to assist a colleague in development of his appraisal business. Jared’s appraisal experience focused on HUD/FHA and distressed residential properties. |
